GNM NURSING

 

What is GNM Nursing ?

GNM or General Nursing Midwifery is a Three and a half-year diploma course in the field of Nursing. Students who wish to pursue GNM diploma can proceed after passing their class 12 exam with any stream. The Three year and half-year course includes six-months of mandatory internship. GNM diploma course is one of the sort out course which can be considered as a stepping stone towards making a career in the Nursing field. Graduates of GNM diploma can start their career by working with government and private hospitals and clinics.




Eligibility Criteria

As per the Indian Nursing Council (INC):

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination in Arts or Science or Health Care Science stream from a recognized board.
     
  • Additional Requirements: Candidates should be medically fit.
     

As per the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB):

  • Entrance Examination: WBJEEB conducts an OMR-based Common Entrance Test for admission into the three-year GNM courses in various colleges and institutes in West Bengal.
     
  • Eligibility: Candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination in any stream are eligible to apply.
     

Course Duration

  • GNM: 3 years
    These courses are designed to prepare students for careers in nursing and midwifery, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide healthcare services..
